This workshop will present methods for combining a range of mediums and acrylic painting through various applications and prompts. Discover new possibilities with mixed media that can be applied to representational and abstract painting.


The first day will consist of demonstrations concentrating on a variety of new techniques, followed by correlating exercises. The second day will focus on creating a piece or pieces using the processes that best fit with your artistic goals. An informal group discussion will take place at the end of each day to provide you with feedback and next steps.


Working mainly with paint and found materials, Sara Willadsen's work explores concepts of abstract spaces and structures guided by her surroundings. She received her MFA in Painting from Northern Illinois University and her BA in Studio and Graphic Arts from Lakeland College. Her work has been featured in New American Paintings and Making the Cut Volume 1: The World's Best Collage Artists, and shows frequently in group exhibitions at the regional and national level. Sara lives and works in Sheboygan Falls, WI.
