Everyone needs a place to hide those tiny, special objects. In this workshop, you will explore design concepts, construction techniques, and surface treatments related to small, lidded container fabrication.

Demonstrations will address hinges, friction fit, box clasps, and solder setups. You will experiment with surface treatments and textures. You are encouraged to bring at least one special object to design a container for; we all have at least one, now you’ll have somewhere to keep it. A basic understanding of metalsmithing is required, including previous experience soldering, sawing, and filing.
