The Studio Intensive Program provides experienced artists with the time, space, and community to develop a body of work and participate in a creative dialogue with peers during PenArt’s quiet season. Combining theory, practice, and feedback, this program encourages experimentation and exploration within self-defined projects.

Facilitated by Shan Bryan-Hanson, lectures, discussions, and readings on relevant art-making topics, as well as individual and group critiques will supplement independent studio activity throughout the two-week session. All approaches to painting and drawing are welcome. Studios are open Monday - Friday each week, 8am - 5pm. Shan will lead activities on Monday, 5/14; Thursday 5/17; Monday, 5/21; and Friday, 5/25, 9am - 4pm.
