Using the beautiful scenery of Door County as inspiration, learn a three-step approach to watercolor painting that provides a process for problem-solving, no matter the subject being painted. This workshop will focus on concepts of value, intensity, and color temperature along with landscape composition.

Each morning will begin with a short demonstration, addressing the topics of compositional strategies, the importance of value studies, color palette selection, negative space work, and painting resolution and finishing details. Color solutions will be explored using structured schemes that help keep color fresh and vibrant. This process will help to loosen up technique, while at the same time teach important painting concepts that apply across all media.
