In this workshop, you will explore the visual language of oil painting from both a historical and contemporary perspective. Learn and explore materials, techniques, vocabulary, and concepts of art while developing a personal artistic voice.

Working from direct observation, Kendra will guide you through a series of exercises and paintings designed to help you gain familiarity with oil paint, build observational skills, identify figure ground relationships, compose imagery, render form, mix color, and develop a positive attitude toward self-expression and creative thinking. Short lectures, presentations, and demonstrations will augment working time.
